I was hairdressing in Amsterdam before I came to London. When I moved here I fancied something different and really liked Murdock as a brand. It’s been great to work here.
Bio
I am originally from The Netherlands, but moved to London in 2012. I started hairdressing in the local salon in the village where I grew up, but always had my eyes set on bigger things and after five years I moved to Amsterdam to work in a renowned salon called B Creative Hair Concept, under the Creative Direction of one of Holland's most famous Stylists; Andy Uffels.I assisted him at many events and shows, including Amsterdam Fashion Week and also travelled abroad to style and present in Milan, Moscow and Buenos Aires.
In 2012 I moved to London to be with my partner Riccardo and to start a new adventure/experience with Murdock.
Ricc and I live with our son Bart, and our dog Maurice in Kentish Town, a stones-throw from the beautiful Hampstead Heath, one of London's most amazing parks!
As Master Barber at the Shoreditch Barber Shop, I have a very loyal clientele and have built a great team of strong, passionate and amazing barbers around me.
I am inspired by fashion and travel, by different people I meet or see around me and music and different eras/decades gone by, I like to use these ideas as inspiration in my work. I love creating hair styles inspired by fashion and using different techniques to create that look.
My customers always book in for great haircuts and beard trims, but also because the service is great, and the vibe in the shop is always super nice and welcoming - which is very important to me and the other barbers in Shoreditch. Everybody is very much into music and always up for a good chat with a bit of banter.
